At the Biograd Boat Show, the HUP Nautical Sector Association presented the "Blue Book of Croatian Nautical Sector" and an initiative to establish a National Council for the Nautical Sector. This council would define a shared vision for development up to 2040, coordinate regulatory, investment, educational, and promotional measures, and monitor their implementation through clearly defined responsibilities and measurable indicators.
According to an analysis in an HUP policy paper, businesses within the nautical value chain generated €2.8 billion in operating revenue and €1,019.6 million in export revenue in 2025, employing 18,323 people (in full-time equivalent terms). Operating revenue grew by 9.4 percent, and exports by 14.8 percent, compared to the previous year. The analysis draws on an HUP registry containing over 3,200 mapped business entities, categorized by their actual activities related to the nautical sector. Mapping of the nautical industry reveals that, between 2021 and 2025, exports grew by 70.8 percent—from €597.1 million to over €1 billion. During the same period, the share of gross investments in fixed assets relative to operating revenue rose from 11.7 percent to 18 percent, highlighting the importance of investment for the sector's continued development.
