For the fourth year, this award recognizes measurable contributions to environmental protection and sustainable development in the nautical sector.

2. HONORARY AWARD FOR OUTSTANDING VOLUNTEER CONTRIBUTION
This award highlights volunteer initiatives focused on protecting the Adriatic Sea and coastline, education and sustainable practices.

KEY DATES

Submit your application no later than Friday, October 16, 2026 at midnight. The expert jury will select the winners. The award ceremony will take place on Friday, October 23, 2026 at 12:00 in the Captain’s Club, Marina Kornati North, with media coverage.

OBJECTIVES

• Increase environmental awareness in the nautical industry
• Reward proven sustainable solutions and innovation
• Promote responsible practices among exhibitors, visitors and the community

ELIGIBILITY

1. ECO EXCELLENCE AWARD 2026
All exhibitors at Biograd Boat Show 2026 with eco-focused products, services or projects are eligible. Entries can be submitted in two categories:

• Best Domestic Product or Service
Open to Croatian exhibitors. Evaluation includes use of local or natural materials, waste reduction, energy efficiency and lifecycle impact.

• Innovation of the Year
Open to both domestic and international exhibitors. Includes new technologies, digital solutions, business models and systems that reduce emissions, conserve resources or improve efficiency. The jury evaluates innovation, usability and scalability.

2. HONORARY AWARD FOR OUTSTANDING VOLUNTEER CONTRIBUTION
This category recognizes volunteer-led initiatives that protect the Adriatic marine environment, educate communities and promote sustainability without financial compensation.

Applicants do not need to be exhibitors. Nominations can be submitted by third parties, organizations or community members.

The Winners of the 2025 EKO Awards

During the 2025 Biograd Boat Show, a formal EKO Awards ceremony took place at the Captain’s Club, Marina Kornati North. The Director of the Biograd Boat Show, Mr. Milan Šangulin, together with the expert jury, congratulated all nominees and this year’s award winners, acknowledging their valuable work in protecting the Adriatic Sea and coastline, and encouraging their continued environmental engagement.

Winners in the categories for Best Domestic Product or Service and Innovation of the Year received elegant MARNAUT watches, while all category winners were granted an annual subscription to the nautical magazine Burza nautike. The winner in the category OUTSTANDING VOLUNTEER CONTRIBUTION was awarded a voucher for 50 lunch packages, generously donated by the sponsor Ilirija d.d.

Winning Projects by Category:

1. EKO EXCELLENCE 2025

a) Best Domestic Product or Service - This category highlights Croatian exhibitors offering products or services with a high level of environmental sustainability. The evaluation criteria included the use of local and natural materials, waste reduction, energy efficiency, and a positive environmental impact throughout the entire product or service life cycle.

b) Innovation of the Year - This category honors innovative solutions with a clear ecological impact within the nautical sector. Eligible entries included Croatian and international exhibitors who developed new technologies, digital solutions, business models, or systems that contribute to sustainability through emission reduction, resource conservation, or improved efficiency. The evaluation considered the level of innovation, practical application, and scalability potential.

2. HONORARY AWARD FOR OUTSTANDING VOLUNTEER CONTRIBUTION

This award is dedicated to actions and initiatives that have demonstrated exceptional voluntary commitment to protecting the Adriatic Sea and marine environment, educating the community, and promoting sustainability, without any financial compensation. Candidates did not need to be exhibitors at the Biograd Boat Show, and nominations could be submitted by third parties, organizations, or community members who recognized their contribution.

Diving Club Sveti Roko, Bibinje - A series of underwater cleanup campaigns along the Adriatic coast, combining waste collection with diverse educational workshops for children (malacological, biological, archaeological, and technical culture themes, as well as Red Cross sessions), accompanied by underwater photography exhibitions by club members.
